Launched in 2020, Informa Markets Fashion for Change (IMFC) is an ongoing corporate initiative whose mission is to foster allyship, inclusion, and equality within the fashion community through programs that support, nurture, and elevate minority-owned brands. IMFC SHOPPING GUIDE 

As consumers push for progress in the fashion industry, retailers can respond by diversifying their curations. The IMFC Shopping Guide features the must-know Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned and LGBTQ+-Owned brands as well as re-introducing you to our collection of IMFC Incubator Program participants. The IMFC Shopping Guide was produced in partnership with Kristen Turner, Founder & Creative Director of Mae Jones Magazine.


2020 IMFC PROGRAMS

IMFC’s Incubator Program

Launched Fall 2020, and timed to the inaugural opening of Informa Markets Fashion’s digital trade events, 10 up-and-coming Black designers were selected for participation in IMFC’s Incubator Program.  This ongoing initiative is aimed at elevating and better supporting new design talent within the Black fashion community through a comprehensive program which included complimentary inclusion in the digital trade event for two seasons – Fall 2020 and Spring 2021- as well as editorial features, marketing promotion, and individualized mentorship guidance sourced from IMFC’s Incubator Program Advisory Board members.

IMFC Incubator Grant Program

Further building off the inaugural IMFC Incubator Program in 2020, the IMFC executed an IMFC Incubator Grant Program, where 4 of the participating 10 Incubator program designers were selected to receive $10,000 each in grant funding. The Grant program identified two categories of distinction for winning grant recipients – Buyer’s Choice and Industry Awards.  The Buyer’s Choice award winner was selected by participating retailers from the digital event, which encompasses top retail buyers from womenswear, menswear, footwear, and childrenswear industries. The Industry Awards, were chosen by the IMFC Incubator Program Advisory Board members.  Merits of consideration for nomination across both categories included: past and present collections, craftsmanship, design integrity and commercial viability.

2020 Industry Awards Selection Winners  

London Grant features a collection of natural provisions for home and body, handcrafted in Atlanta by Founder Tiffany Staten.

CONFIDENCE BY GaBBY Goodwin features a collection of hair accessories from 13-year-old entrepreneur Gabrielle “GaBBY” Goodwin.

ENZI features a collection of made-in-Ethiopia footwear by Co-Founder and Designer Jawad Braye.
